It's Tulip Mania //

Ok, we've been getting more and more requests for Tulips as the weather gets warmer, and the daylight longer. So, we wanted to share some great pics of Tulips that we had, and even some new ones we just found.

We watched a DVD called the Botany of Desire, and it has a segment on the Dutch and the craziness that the Tulips caused back in the day. Today, we get to share in the beauty of the Tulips in everyday arrangments and to celebrate the return of spring.

This pic was from when we wandered around the Denver Botanic Gardens. Another place where you can have a unique wedding in Colorado.

The Real Snow White, a Mountain Wedding Fairytale // Winter Wedding at Keystone's Alpenglow Stube

All photos courtesy of Katie Girtman of Team Studio Kiva, based right here in Breckenridge, Colorado.

How about a unique Colorado experience and throw in some horses and transport everyone through the Rocky Mountains to a fun-filled rehearsal dinner, complete with a local strummin' a guitar finishing off the night? That's what these folks did!

This Groom is stoked to be slopeside with the Gondola out his back door. If you're gonna get married in the mountains, you might as well be able to ski, or ride in this case, right up to your condo or lodging. Plus, Keystone is throwin' in passes this year for getting married at Keystone! Click here for more on that.

Two gondola rides to the Alpenglow Stube during a perfect sunset with calm conditions. A sure blessing in the mountains for this lucky couple. You never know what kind of weather is going to happen, and this could have been potentially a very stormy experience, complete with heavy snow and winds. But that wasn't the case this day.

The real snow white

Caution! GROOM in progress. Classic.

White Calla Lilies, Stephanotis, Orchids, Spider Mums and even a few crystals were put together to create this elegant white bouquet.

Pottery Barn Hurricane Lamps, white pillar candles, and iridescent snowflakes lined the aisle, creating a romantic mountain wedding ceremony.

The bridesmaids wore blue iridescent dresses and carried bouquets with blue Delphinium, white Spider Mums, and a few greens. The handles were wrapped in white and even a bit of jewelry was added on.

The Alpenglow Stube has a gentleman working named who will go above and beyond for your event. Ask for him and tell him you found his venue on our blog. Gabe was a HUGE help with this event and we have high praise for his services.

Breckenridge Wedding Reception at the Mountain Thunder Lodge

This bridal bouquet is using one of the hottest wedding trends of 2010, and that is TEXTURE.

Purple and orange Orchids, orange Calla Lilies, Lily Grass, green Hypericum Berry, and green Button Mums.

One of the possible wedding reception venues is the Mountain Thunder Lodge in Breckenridge. This facility is maintained by Vail Resorts and is located directly across from the Breckenridge Ski Resort's Gondola.

A lobby seating area is transformed into a cocktail / meeting area before guests are directed to a room that will be used for the reception and dinner.

Elements of mountain wedding decor for this wedding included using different heights of cylinder vases with partially submerged Orchids, with river rock in the bottom of the vases.

Extra river rock was spread out on the tables, along with votive candles. The head table had a heavier concentration of rock and even had some orchids put along the front edge where the bouquets would eventually be placed.

This is the reception / dining room. A dance floor is placed in the middle of the room, and a ski run is visible out the window. The ski area and gondola shut down during the evening hours.

Winter Wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado

This recent Breckenridge bridal bouquet was infused with wispy white feathers around a core group of deep red Calla Lilies. Magnolia leaves were used as the greenery before the handle was wrapped in white ribbon.

This fireplace mantle was dressed up with more deep reds, but we used Dahlias as welll as Calla Lilies, the Magnolia, and even dressed up silver Manzanita with clear crystals.

This welcome table had some crystals and Dahlias scattered, but the main arrangement was a tall cylinder vase with silver curly willow adorned with more clear crystals.

Lots of white pillar candles were gathered around the base of the fireplace. LED votives were then placed next to the floral piece on the mantle as well.

Helping Wishes Come True

"Wish Upon a Wedding was founded based on the concept that two people in love should never be denied the chance to marry their soul mate, even if they only have months (or weeks) to live.
America's only wish granting organization, Wish Upon a Wedding produces weddings & civil unions ceremonies at destinations across the United States for individuals facing life-threatening illness.
By celebrating the courage & spirit of these couples, it is our hope that others facing similar situations will find hope, strength, and the promise of eternal love."
This is Wish Upon a Wedding Awareness Week, so do what you can to help spread the word of this awesome project. We just did, by posting this blog...
