Snow Sculpture Photo Shoot // A Great Winter Wedding Idea for Breckenridge, Colorado

Right now there are artists using chainsaws, hand saws and other tools that sculpt and refine huge blocks of snow. Every year, this International competition attracts countries from around the world to create temporary works of art.

And for those lucky enough to be getting married in Breckenridge the next two weeks, you too, can have one of the most unique wedding photos you'll ever see. If you use this idea, we'd love to see some pics on our facebook page.

"Simple and meaningful" were the words used by the bride when describing what she wanted her vision for the day. One of our brides last year, Elissa, shared with us her post-wedding thoughts and even a word of advice for future Breckenridge brides.

Lilies, Roses, mixed greens and Aspen bark were incorporated for the decor used to dress up Father Dyer United Methodist Church in Breckenridge.

"We wanted an elegant wedding, but mostly we just wanted to get married and for our families to have fun together in Breckenridge. "

Posing for a pic in front of a snow sculpture in downtown Breckenridge with Mount Baldy a prominent fixture to the east, opposite the ski area, and one of my favorite mountains to explore.
"Our family members were a great help in executing our vision, and we would not have pulled it off without them. And certainly things that we had planned for did not happen exactly as envisioned on the day of the wedding, and that is where a day of coordinator would have been helpful. By the morning of the wedding, I just decided to relax.
So my advice for brides is this: your wedding is about marrying the one you love, not about perfect details. It's easy to forget this when looking at magazines and wedding blogs. Set priorities, plan in advance, ask for help, and then relax."

The all-white flowers of different varities creates a clean winter tablescape that uses more Aspen in the vase covers and to even hold a few votive candles.
